Nvidia Q1 Revenue Surges Despite China Export Constraints
Nvidia reported $44.1 billion in revenue for Q1 FY2026, marking a 12% quarterly and 69% annual increase. The figure surpassed Zacks’ $42.91 billion estimate but earnings per share fell short at 81% versus the projected 85%. Profits were impacted by a $4.5 billion provision tied to U.S. restrictions on AI chip exports to China.
CEO Jensen Huang framed AI demand as a global necessity, comparing it to electricity and internet infrastructure. The company forecasts $45 billion in next-quarter revenue but anticipates $8 billion in losses from continued China trade barriers. A cost-reduced AI chip for the Chinese market enters mass production in June 2025.
